Additional information

The potential for biodegradation of caffeine has been comprehensively investigated. As indicated by a DOC Die Away test (OECD 301 A), caffeine is readily biodegradable since the degradation after 28 days was 90 - 100 %. Furthermore a test conducted according to UK national standards demonstrated that caffeine is readily biodegradable.
