Predicted No Environmental Effect Concentrations (PNECs) have been calculated using the results of environmental toxicity tests and applying default assessments factors.

Conclusion on classification

Classification for environmental effects is justified based on the observed toxicity in acute tests in three aquatic aquatic compartments. Being inorganic, the substance cannot be regarded as readily biodegradable and there may be the potential for the substance to persist in the environment should release occur. However, available information on vanadium compounds suggest that bioaccumulation does not, in general, occur.
