Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance is not readily biodegradable according OECD criteria. It is moderately/partially biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
inherently biodegradable

Additional information

In a guideline-conform study conducted under GLP according to OECD Guideline 301 F (respirometer test), a biodegradability of 20 - 30% was observed after 28 days, indicating that the substance cannot be considered as readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria (BASF SE 2002). When taking into account the enhanced biodegradation testing regime, as discussed in ECHA's "Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7b: Endpoint specific guidance", p195 -197, such test approaches for enhanced biodegradation screening tests could include extension of test duration. Since after 48 days a biodegradation of 90 - 100 % was observed, the substance therefore can be considered as inherently biodegradable.
