Reference
Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because a long-term aquatic toxicity study on invertebrates is proposed to be conducted
Justification for type of information:
The study does not need to be conducted because Calcium Titanium Trioxide is poorly soluble in water (<0.3 mg/L) and can be waived in accordance with Annex VII of REACH. A long-term aquatic toxicity study on invertebrates in accordance with the OECD Testing Guideline 211 is proposed.

Description of key information

The water solubility of the registered substance was determined in accordance with the OECD Testing Guideline 105. The study concluded that Calcium Titanium Trioxide is poorly soluble in water (<0.3 mg/L).

As the substance is poorly soluble in water a long-term aquatic toxicity study should be considered instead of short-term studies. Therefore, short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was waived in accordance with Annex VII of REACH.
