Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Flash Point=97.3°C: not a flammable liquid (CLP/GHS)

Not pyrophoric. No release of flammable gases if contact with water. No self-heating anticipated. (waived)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

As the substance is a low melting solid, the Flash Point measurement was considered suitable and relevant for classification purpose. A reliable experimental study, non-GLP, is available and presented under point 4.11. It is considered as a key study.

Moreover, as Supporting data, public literature provides a negative result for the analogue Glycerol Quat, as solid, with no propagation of the flame in the EC test.

Based on the chemical structure and experience, no flammable properties are anticipated if contact with air or water, or no self-heating as a low melting solid, therefore studies were deemed unnecessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The Flash Point result is above the thresholds of Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS), respectively 60°C and 93°C, therefore the test substance is NOT classified as a flammable liquid in both systems.
