Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Weight of evidence approach

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The Hommel Handbook of dangerous goods (Hommel 2014) report the density to be 0.8165 g/mL at 20°C. Furthermore in the Knovel Database three independent literature sources were given. The Handbook of Fillers, Extenders and Diluters (Knovel 2014a) report the density of the test item to be 0.817 g/mL at 20 °C. The Handbook of Paint and Coating Raw Materials (Knovel 2014b) report the density of the test item to be 0.82 g/mL at 20 °C and the Yaw's Handbook of Physical Properties for Hydrocarbons and Chemicals (Knovel 2014c) report the density to be 0.817 g/mL at 25 °C. All reported values are in the same range and were therefore regarded as reliable. The density of 0.8165 g/mL was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment as it was from the most reliable literature source.
