Description of key information

89 % of the particles were determined to be > 150 µm; no particles were < 38 µm.

Additional information

The particle size distribution of BPA DA was determined following a sieving method in accordance with ASTM D1921-01 (Safety Consulting Engineers, 2006). The study was awarded a reliability score of 2 in accordance with the criteria set forth by Klimisch et al. (1997).

The resulting distribution was as follows:

- Percent material retained on sieve sizes (µm) 150, 75, 45, 38: 88.96, 10.33, 0.7, 0.01 after 10 minutes of sieving) and 88.67, 8.96, 2.26, 0.11 after 30 min sieving.

- Percent material that passed the 38 µm size sieve: none (10 and 30 minutes of sieving).

In conclusion, 89 % of the particles were determined to be > 150 µm; no particles were < 38 µm.
