Description of key information

In accordance with section 7.15 of Column 1 of REACH Annex IX, this study is only required if stability of the substance is considered to be critical. It is considered justified to omit this study on the basis that the stability of the substance in organic solvents is not considered to be critical.
A study on the stability of a test substance in an organic solvent is normally undertaken in support of those (eco) toxicological studies in which the substance is dissolved in an organic solvent. The objective of the stability test is to confirm whether the test substance is stable under the storage conditions for the duration of the storage of the organic solvent or extract containing the test substance. For BPA-DA these stability determinations are considered to be included in the studies where relevant.
Furthermore, the organic BPA-DA is manufactured outside the EU and is only imported into Europe as reacted monomer in imported polymers. The substance will thus not come into contact with organic solvents during any further handling in its life cycle.
