Additional information

Mobility inhibition of Daphnia magna exposed to Ethyldiisopropylamine (EDIPA) has been investigated according to OECD guideline 202 and GLP requirements (L'Haridon, 2004). As the pH (10.98) of the stock solution after agitation varied by more than 0.5 unit from that of test water (7.83), it was adjusted and the pH was 7.63 after adjustment, in accordance with recommendations of the OECD guideline.Under the experimental conditions, the 48h_EC50 of EDIPA in a static test system was estimated as 28.1 mg/L for Daphnia magna. The validity criteria were fulfilled.

Another study has been done according to EEC Directive 79/831/EEC, Annex V, Part C and GLP requirements (BASF, 1996). The 48h_EC50 of EDIPA for daphnia in a static test system was estimated as 74.3 mg/L with a non-buffered solution and > 100 mg/L when neutralized.

Thus the worst result obtained for this trophic level was used as key value i.e. EC50 of 28.1 mg/L.
