Description of key information
Based on the available data the short-term PNEC for freshwater fish is 460 ug/L. The PNEC for marine fish based on the freshwater fish data is,
46 ug/L.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
The O.E.C.D. 203, GLP, Klimisch 1 acute rainbow trout study conducted in 1998 is considerd most appropriate for determmination of the acute fish PNEC. The NOEC for this study was 460 mg/L. Following E.C.H.A. guidance (RIP 3.2, Chapter R.10) a 1000-fold Accessment Factor is applied to the NOEC resulting in a PNEC of 460 ug/L for freshwater fish. An additional Assessment Factor of 10 is applied to the freshwater fish NOEC value to derive the acute marine fish PNEC of 46 ug/L.
