Additional information

The toxicity of the test substance to fish was investigated in two guideline studies. In a study according to Japanese Industrial Standard JIS K 0102 - 1974 Item 55 "Acute toxicity by fishes", the LC50 (96h) to Oryzias latipes was determined to be ca. 20 mg/L, based on nominal test concentrations (BASF AG 1983). This result is supported by a study according to DIN 38412 L15 using Leuciscus idus as a test organism. The LC50 (96h) in this study was found to be approx. 22 mg/L based on nominal concentrations (BASF AG 1980). In the second study (BASF AG 1980), a product instead of the pure substance was tested. Therefore, this study was corrected for the content of the test substance of 46.69%, resulting in a LC50 -value of 10.27 mg/L. The resulting LC50 -value (arithmetic mean LC50 -value from both studies) was calculated to be 15.1 mg/L. Based on these data the test substance is considered to be acutely toxic to fish
