Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The substance is a non flammable solid which possesses no pyrophoric properties as well as water reactivity. Self-reactive behaviour could be excluded as the estimated SADT of the substance is > 75 °C. Furthermore self-heating behaviour of the substance could be excluded as the Grewer Oven test shows an onset temperature > 220 °C. Based on the chemical structure the substance is no organic peroxide.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flammability as well self-reactive and self-heating behaviour of the substance is determined in a guideline study following the quality management system of GLP. No or only minor deviations could be found during the determination. The value could therefore be considered as valid and is chosen as key value. Pyrophoric properties as well as water reactivity and organic peroxides could be excluded on the basis of the chemical structure of the substance.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The classification as flammable solid as well as self-reactive and self-heating behaviour of the substance could be excluded based on test results. Pyrophoric properties, water reactivity and and the classification organic peroxides could excluded based on the chemical structure of the substance. Therefore the substance does not need to be classified as flammable in any relating hazard category.
