Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

27 May 2003 - 04 June 2003
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
other: preliminary test only
Specific details on test material used for the study:
- Batch: 8191-34
- Purity: 97.8% (expressed as primary amine, % of total)
Key result
Water solubility:
> 1 000 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
12.5
Remarks on result:
other: Result obtained in a preliminary test.
Details on results:
All visual observations showed a clear colourless solution without phase separation. The test substance is thus concluded to be miscible with water in at least a 1:1 (w:v) ratio (i.e. water solubility of the test substance is > 1000 g/L) at 19.7 ± 0.6°C. The pH of the aqueous solution was 12.5.
Conclusions:
The substance is concluded to be miscible with water in at least a 1:1 (w:v) ratio (i.e. water solubility of the test substance is > 1000 g/L) at 19.7 ± 0.6°C.  The pH of the aqueous solution was 12.5.

Description of key information

The water solubility of the substance was determined in a GLP study according to test methods EC A.6 and OECD 105 to be >1000 g/L at 20 °C, following a preliminary test with visual observations (Baltussen, 2003).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
1 000 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The test substance is concluded to be miscible with water in at least a 1:1 (w:v) ratio (i.e. water solubility of the test substance is > 1000 g/L). A pH of 12.5 was measured at this concentration.
