Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A HLC of 8.333E-7 atm m³/mol (0.0844 Pa m³/mole) was determined using equilibrium partial pressure measurements over aqueous solutions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
0.084
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

For isovaleric acid, a Henry's law constant of 8.333E-7 atm m³/mole was determined in a study using equilibrium partial pressure measurements over aqueous solutions at 298.15 K (25°C) (Khan, 1992).

A calculated Henry's law constant of 1.28E-006 atm m³/mole (bond contribution method) and of 9.96E-007 atm m³/mole (group contribution method) was obtained using the program HENRYWIN v 3.2 (Part of US EPA EPI Suite v4.10) (GUBDH, 2012). Measured and calculated HLC match satisfactorily.
