Description of key information
One key study was available using the read-across substance glycerol as test substance. No effects were seen at 10000mg/L.

The toxicity threshold was determined for a number of chemicals using Pseudomonas putida. The toxicity threshold (comparable to a NOEC) in a 16 hour study was > 10000 mg./L. While this study does not follow the typical activated sludge respiration inhibition study design, it does demonstrate that glycerol is relatively non-toxic to bacteria.
