Description of key information

Glycerine carbonate is concluded not to be flammable in contact with water nor to have pyrophoric properties following GLP studies in accordance with EC test method A.12 and and A.13 (Shajad Younis, 2014). In addition, the flashpoint of glycerine carbonate was determined to be 149.5 °C at a 101.3 kPa.

The flashpoint of glycerine carbonate was concluded to be 149.5 °C at a 101.3 kPa and is therefore above the range relevant for classification and labelling under the DSD (<55 °C) and CLP (<60 °C).

The results of the tests on flammability in contact with water and pyrophoric properties do not suggest any flammability hazard.

Thus glycerine carbonate should not be classified as a flammable liquid.
