Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute aquatic toxicity of the test substance 4'-methylacetophenone was studied under GLP in a static acute toxicity test with freshwater invertebrates (Daphnia magna) in accordance with EU Method C.2 (1992). The test substance was added to test medium (M4-medium according to Elendt) at nominal concentrations of 6.5, 13, 25, 50 and 100 mg/L. These concentrations were monitored by analysing the TOC content of each test medium at the start and end of the test. Good agreement between nominal and measured test concentrations was found and the effect levels were based on measured concentrations (arithmetic mean of concentrations at time points 0 and 24 or 48 hours). The calculated EC50 value was 31 mg/L (95% CL: 25.2 to 38.4 mg/L).
