Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Temperature data

The temperatures which were measured in the experiment are presented in the following table. As many values were recorded, only the values every 60 minutes (until the oven had reached the chosen temperature) are presented.

After the oven reached the temperature of 228.3 an ignition was detected and the test was stopped automatically.

After the end of the test the test item was completely carbonized.

The heating rate was 0.57 °C/min.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

At the temperature 228.3°C an increase in the temperature of the sample in comparison to that of the oven was detected; also signs of ignition could be observed. The temperature of test item rose above 400 °C.

The test item is considered as auto-flammable at 228.3°C under the test conditions.

After the test was finished, the test item was completely carbonized.

DEVIATIONS

Deviations from the Study Plan and the Guideline

The following deviation from study plan and guideline EU method A.16 was stated:

The heating rate of the oven over the complete heating range was 0.57 K/min. instead of 0.5 K/min. This was considered as uncritical as the deviation is minimal.
