Justification:

The substance does not meet the criteria for PBT or vPvB. The substance is potentially persistent ('not readily biodegradable'), the substance is not considered bioaccumulative (BCF << 2000) and is not known to be toxic.


 


The substance has not demonstrated that it meets the ‘ready biodegradability’ screening criteria. The substance should be treated as potentially meeting the ‘P’ (not vP) criteria. The substance has demonstrated an n-octanol/water partition coefficient of log Kow << 4.0 via a reliable flask-study (OECD TG 107). The substance has demonstrated to be of low BCF < 500 L/Kg wet wt in available in vivo data. The BCF-steady state (fish) was: 270 – 300 L/Kg whole body w.w. within 28-days (OECD TG 305). This confirms that the substance has a low bioaccumulation potential. Therefore the conclusion for the substance is that it is not bioaccumulative in accordance with ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, Chapter R.11 as it does not fulfil the screening (log Pow << 4.5) or full criteria for bioaccumulation potential (BCF << 2000). While a full dataset on chronic aquatic toxicity data is not available, the substance is not considered toxic based on consideration of the acute aquatic toxicity endpoints (including results of studies in algae, daphnia and fish per OECD TG 201, 202, and 203). Based on the available information, the substance is not classified as having CMR (category 1A or 1B or 2, as applicable) properties, nor does it show other evidence of toxicity criteria based on available sub-acute and/or repro-developmental screening studies. In conclusion, the substance is not PBT and not vPvB.
