Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Surface Tension of the test substance is 71.0 mN/m (1 g/L solution) at 21.1 ± 0.5 °C, using a ring method based on ISO 304, designed to be compatible with Method A5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 115 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995. The test item was considered not to be surface-active.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
71
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

Temperature is 21.1 °C, at which the surface tension was determined, not 20 °C. But the determined value can be taken in the same way for the chemical safety assessment because the difference is very slight.
