Additional information

In a non-GLP, 72-hour static test with the green alga Scenedesmus subspicatus according to Germna Industrial Standard DIN 38412 part 9, the algae toxicity of 3,4-dihydro-2-methoxy-2H-pyran was studied. Statistical evaluation of the endpoint growth rate resulted in an EC50 (72h) >500 mg/L, related to the nominal concentration. Due to the fact that the test substance volatizes rapidly,

an additional study was performed in 2003 to analytically quantify the amount of substance in the test vessels before and at the end of the test. After 96 hours a time-weighted average recovery rate between 0 and 72 hours of 33% was estimated. Based on these data, an EC50 (72h) >165 mg/L can be estimated.
