Description of key information

The following study has been submitted to address the short-term toxicity to fish endpoint:
Wetton (2003). ACUTE TOXICITY TO KILLIFISH. Testing laboratory: SafePharm Laboratories Ltd, P. O. Box 45, Derby, DE1 2BT, United Kingdom. Report no.: 1194/032. Owner company: Nitto Kasei Co., Ltd. Report date: 2003-11-05.
In an acute toxicity to Killifish (Oryzias latipes) study, the 96 hour LC50 was determined to be >2.0 mg/l and the 48 hour NOEC was determined to be 2.0 mg/l.
There were no sub-lethal effects of exposure observed in 14 fish exposed to a test concentration of 2.0 mg/l for a period of 96 hours.

Additional information

The key study, Wetton (2003) has been conducted to GLP and in line with a recognised guideline (OECD Guideline No 203 (1992) "Fish, Acute Toxicity Test" which is referenced as EU Method C.1).and has been allocated a Klimisch score of 1. The study is considered to be the key study for this endpoint. The 96 hour LC50 was determined to be >2.0 mg/l and the 48 hour NOEC was determined to be 2.0 mg/l.
