Additional information

To determine the toxicity of 3,4-dihydro-2-methoxy-2H-pyran to fish, a non-GLP study following Japanese Industrial Standard JIS K0102 using Oryzias latipes was performed (BASF 1981). The calculated LC50 (96h) value in this study was 730 mg/L, related to the nominal concentration. Due to the volatility of the test substance an additional study was performed in 2003 to assess the amount of test substance being volatilised. After 96 hours a time-weighted average recovery rate between 0 and 96 hours of 31.7% was estimated.

Based on these data, a LC50 (96h) of 231.41 mg/L can be estimated.
