Description of key information

The analysis of Acacia mearnsi extract, indicated acute toxicity to Daphnia magna with a EC50 (48h) of 13.2 mg/L, under test conditions.
However, this substance is not classified, according to the criteria given in Annex I of Regulation EC/1272/2008, as hazardous aquatic acute nor chronic.

Additional information

Two experimental studies are available on Acacia mearnsi extract. In both studies from the respective doses 80 mg/L and 125 ppm 100% of daphnia mortalitywas observed. However, this substance should not be classified, according to the criteria given in Annex I of Regulation EC/1272/2008, nor hazardous aquatic acute nor chronic (because EC50 (48h) > 10 mg/L and the substance Acacia mearnsi extract is readily biodegradable).

As the GLP was not stated these studies were quoted as reliability 2 according to Klimisch criteria.
