Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

PNEC for bethic organisms can be calculated applying the equilibrium partitioning method using a Kpsed or Kdsed of 43664 L/kg (or Koc of 873280 L/kg) this leads to a PNEC of 2.04 mg a.i./kd dw (including correction for additional exposure via ingestion).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

With a Kd of 43664 L/kg C36 -alkylenediamines have strong sorption to soil. The PNEC sediment is calculated using the equilibrium paritioning method as no short or long-term benthic test data is available for C36 –alkylenediamines.

PNEC sediment based on EPM

In the absence of measured data the PNECsedcan be provisionally calculated using the equilibrium partitioning method (EPM). According to the TGD this method uses the PNECaquaticand the sediment/water partitioning coefficient as inputs.

The PNECsedis then calculated using the equations detailed in the TGD (2003):

PNECsed=  Ksusp-water* PNECaquatic dissolved* 1000 * 1 / RHOsusp

Where:

PNECaquatic dissolved= 0.234µg/L

Ksusp-water= 21833m3. m-3

RHOsusp= 1150 kg. m-3(TGD, equ. 18)

PNECsed-EPM= 4.44 mg/kg ww = 20.44 mg/kg dw

PNECsed-EPM= 0.44 mg/kg ww = 2.044 mg/kg dw including correction for additional exposure via ingestion
