Additional information

The two 1,2 -dichloropropane studies by Dow (1988) with the freshwater invertebrate (Daphnia magna) and the marine water invertebrate (Mysidopsis bahia) were selected as the key freshwater and marine studies because both were conducted with under flow-through conditions with measured confirmation of doses and in general accordance with standard methods. The 48 -hour LC50 value with Daphnia magna was 55.9 mg/L and the 96 -hour LC50 value with <24 -hour old mysids was 24.79 mg/L.

The remaining 4 supporting studies were not considered key studies because they were considered invalid due to an unsuitable test system (e.g. static test, no analytical verification of dose concentrations, incorrect age of test organisms). These tests were conducted with various species (daphnid, brown shrimp and barnacle larvae) and reported IC/LC50 values ranging from 45->100 mg/L.
