Additional information

The aerobic biodegradation of sodium methanethiolate has been examinated in 1995 by Thiebaud and Brochier during 28 days through OECD Guideline 301 D and EU Method C.4 -E.

The results have shown that 64 % of the substance is degraded after 21 days.

The percentage of biodegradation at the end of the 10 -d window was around 60%. Therefore, according to these results, sodium methanethiolate is considered as readily biodegradable.

In test conditions, the substance was not inhibitory to microorganisms.
