Type:
Pow
Partition coefficient:

Remarks on result:
other: Room temperature - The value pH is not provided
Key result
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
< -2.7
Remarks on result:
other: Room temperature - The value pH is not provided
Details on results:
The preliminary test indicated that the test item was weakly soluble in n-octanol (< 1 g/L).The solubility in water of SODIUM CHLORITE was previously determined to be > 500 g/L(CIT/Study No. 22374 PSE).This estimate indicates a negative log Pow.The shake-flask method enables partition coefficient to be determined in the log Pow rangebetween -2 and 4, thus the shake-flask method was not applicable.Consequently, the test was considered to be complete.
Conclusions:
The result was as follows (Estimation based on the individual solubilities of the test item in n-octanol and water)::Pow < 1/500Pow < 0.002 and log Pow < -2.7 at room temperature.
Executive summary:

The aim of this study was the determination of the partition coefficient of the test material.

The test procedure used was the EU Method A8 and the OECD test guideline 107.

The method for analysis was the shake flask method.

The result was as follows ( Estimation based on the individual solubilities of the test item in n-octanol and water):

Pow< 1/500

Pow <0.002 and log Pow< -2.7 at room temperature

Description of key information
