Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Ethyl lactate will be present mainly in air.
Executive summary:

A level III Fugacity calculation was performed for ethyl lactate with a version of 'LEVEL3B.BAS', as downloaded from the website of Trent University, Canada, adapted for MATLAB. A fugacity calculation clearly shows that ethyl lactate will be mainly present in air. Under the default compartment sizes used in the LEVEL3.BAS model, 92% of the amount of ethyl lactate present in the system is found in air.
