Health effects ofReaction mass of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol, 4,6-di-tert-butyl-o-cresol and 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol componentshave been studied comprehensively and reviewed by the National Toxicology Program (NTP, 1979), the World Health Organisation (WHO, 1987), the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC, 1986, 1987), the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA, 1996), the OECD High Production Volume chemicals evaluation programme (OECD, SIDS, 2005), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Panel on Food Additives and Nutrient Sources added to Food (EFSA, 2012). Because these reports have undergone several levels of technical review, it is assumed for the purpose of the present CSR that any referenced toxicity data cited in them are also reliable.
