Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:
Justification for selection of skin sensitisation endpoint:
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Regulation EC (No) 1907/2006 Annex VII, section 8.3, a skin sensitisation study does not need to be conducted if the substance is a strong base (pH > 11.5). Depending of the concentration of a solution cesium carbonate reveals a pH up to 12. However, a GLP and guideline compliant study with the structural analogous read-across substance cesium nitrate was used. Please refer to IUCLID section 13 for read-across justification.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results obtained with the structural analogous substance cesium nitrate cesium carbonate was considered to have no sensitisation potential and was not classified and labeled according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD).
