The manufactured cesium hydrogen carbonate contains up to 10 % cesium carbonate. Cesium carbonate is a stronger base (pH > 12) as cesium hydrogen carbonate. Cesium carbonate is classified with Eye damage 1 (H318) according to Regulation (EU) no. 1272/2008 (CLP). Cesium carbonate is not classified as skin irritant/corrosive. Therefore, the worst-case read-across from cesium carbonate was performed because according to Regulation (EU) no. 1272/2008 (CLP) the threshold for consideration is crossed.
