Additional information

A GLP guideline study according to OECD 301F has been conducted (RCC UMWELTCHEMIE AG 1995a). Activated bacterial sludge from a domestic waste water plant has been used and the biodegradation has been investigated by measuring the biological oxygen demand (BOD). After 28 d no biodegradation has been observed for the test substance. Therefore, the test substance is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.

Aniline was used as a control and was degraded by 72.9 % and 69.9 % after 14 days of exposure. At the end of the test, degradation rates of 82.9 % and 77.4 % were measured. No inhibitory effects were observed in the toxicity controls.
