The adsorption/desorption coefficient of 4-vinylpyridine was estimated to be 219.5 (i.e., log Koc of 2.3414). As the log Koc value falls between 1.5 and 2.5, this suggests that 4VP exhibits low sorption onto soil and sediment (defined in the Interpretive Assistance for Sustainable Futures Summary Assessment, updated January 2007, by U.S. EPA, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, Sustainable Futures Program).
