Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)

Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
170 °C

Pre-test:

During cooling down, at 390 °C, cracked sound was observed. Because of safety reasons the test tube was taken out from the aluminium block. The test item showed decomposition, indicated by colour change (brown).

Siwoloboff method:

The determination of the main test of the boiling point following the SIWOLOBOFF method was performed in duplicate. In both determinations, decomposition was detected. The decomposition temperature was determined with 170.0 ± 0.0 °C (443.2 ± 0.0 K). This value is the mean of two independent determinations. The test item showed signs of decomposition during determination, indicated by colourchange and physical state change (polymerisation). Therefore, no boiling point could be determined.

Conclusions:
The test was carried out following OECD test guideline 103. No boiling point could be determined as the test item started to decompose at a temperature of 170 °C.
Executive summary:

The test was carried out following OECD test guideline 103. No boiling point could be determined as the test item started to decompose at a temperature of 170 °C.
