Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Hexamethylene diisocyanate, trimers, reaction products with 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (CAS 162492-01-5) is characterized by low water solubility (< 0.54 mg/L, 20 °C), low vapor pressure (8.1E-08 hPa at 20 °C), low to high mobility in water (log Koc = 2.73 - 15.09, KOCWIN v2.00) and a log Pow of 4.23 (20 °C, OECD 117). Thus, the substance is likely to partition to sediment and soil particles. Due to the low vapor pressure, the substance has a low potential for evaporation to the atmosphere. Thus, indirect photodegradation in air is not a relevant degradation process. Furthermore, the substance is not rapidly biodegradable (0% in 28 d, OECD 301 B). The substance is expected to be hydrolytically stable at pH4 and pH7 (DT50 at pH4: > 1 year, DT50 at pH7: 8.36 - 16.72 d) based on QSAR calculations using SPARC. Under alkaline conditions (pH9) the substance is expected to hydrolyse quickly with a DT50 < 24 h (1.92 - 4.08 h). However, since the substance is poorly soluble in water (< 0.54 mg/L, 20 °C, OECD 105), the experimental determination of hydrolysis is technically not feasible. It is not possible to establish a suitable analytical method in order to derive a reliable hydrolysis half-life.
