Additional information

No PNEC has been calculated for environmental compartments since negligible exposure of the aquatic /terrestrial/ sedimental environment to 3,3'-[biphenyl-4,4'-diylbis(oxy)]dianiline is expected for the identified use of the substance in the European Union. Microorganisms in sewage treatment plants are also not affected. It should be noted that the water solubility of 3,3'-[biphenyl-4,4'-diylbis(oxy)]dianiline, as determined in accordance with the EU Method A.10, is very low at 0.002 mg/L.

Conclusion on classification

Due to the very low concentrations of residual m-BP in polyimide resins no environmental classification is justified.
