Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
Basic Red 046 methylsulphate
Reference substance:
Basic Red 046 methylsulphate
Name:
Basic Red 046 methylsulphate
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
Basic Red 046 methylsulphate
Reference substance:
Basic Red 046 methylsulphate
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistency assessment:

Basic Red 046 Methylsulfate was considered to be not readily biodegradable, as BOD5/COD ratio for it was calculated to be 210/593.2 = 0.35. Hewever, since BOD5 was calculated to be 210 mg O2/g, it can be considered persistent (P) but not very persistent (not vP).

Bioaccumulation assessment:

The log Kow for Basic Red 046 Methylsulfate was determined to be -1.86, hence it is considered to be neither bioaccumulative (not B) nor very bioaccumulative (not vB).

Toxicity assessment:

Basic Red 046 Methylsulfate was determined to have a 7-day NOEC of 1.7 mg/L in a toxicity study with Lemna, hence it should not be considered to be a toxicant (not T).

In conclusion, Basic Red 046 Methylsulfate can be considered to be persistent, but neither bioaccumulative nor a toxicant. Hence, it is considered not to be a PBT/vPvB substance.
