Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Based on the measured log Pow value, this substance is estimated to have a chronic aquatic toxicity value of 1.5 mg/L, equivalent to a NOEC of 1.1 mg/L.
Executive summary:

A chronic aquatic toxicity value was calculated using the neutral organics-acid structure-activity relationship in the ECOSAR computer program of EPISuite. The log Pow measured at pH 2.5 was used in the calculation. (Q)SAR estimations for the registered substance resulted in a 30 day chronic value (ChV) to freshwater fish of 1.5 mg/l, equivalent to a NOEC of 1.1 mg/l.

Description of key information

Additional information

Experimental long-term toxicity data for the registered substance are not available. A chronic aquatic toxicity value was calculated using the neutral organics-acid structure-activity relationship in the ECOSAR computer program (Nabholz and Mayo-Bean, 2009) of EPISuite; the results of which are adequate for the purpose of classification and labelling and/or risk assessment.

QSAR estimations for the registered substance resulted in a 30 day chronic value (ChV) to fish of 1.5 mg/L, equivalent to a NOEC value of 1.1 mg/L.

This is in agreement with the supporting study where no effects were seen on growth from 14 d exposure of Oncorhynchus mykiss to 2.2 mg/L neodecanoic acid.
