Description of key information

Chronic toxicity to Daphnia magna was determined according to the OECD guideline 211 for the test substance CA 2343A. The study was conducted according to GLP guidelines. Reproduction rate and length of parent animals was determined in a test duration of 21 days.
Validity test criteria were fulfilled as no parent animals died in the dilution water control and mx. 2 of 10 parents died in test concentrations. Guideline OECD 211 allows mortality of 20 % of the parent animals in the controls at the end of the test without affecting the validity of the test. The mortalities ovserved in the test were within this limit.
Results based on nominal concentrations of CA 2343 A: The no observed effect CA 2343 A concentration (NOEC) for reproduction was 120 mg/l and the EC50 for reproduction was > 120 mg/L. The no observed effect CA 2343 A concentration (NOEC) for length was 56 mg/l, the lowest observed effect concentration (LOEC) was 120 mg/l. The overall no observed effect
CA 2343 A concentration was 56 mg/l and the overall lowest observed effect concentration was 120 mg/l.
