Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
skin irritation: in vivo
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Remarks:
Non-GLP-Test. The exposure time is 24 hours and therefore very long. It is not judged whether the very long contact time inadmissibly falsifies the results. The assessment of the results is inconclusive; in particular, there is no justification for why the result after 8d (end of observation period) is not taken into account. Observations after 48 h are not reported. With a more conservative evaluation, the study can nevertheless be used for risk assessment.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
Category 1C (corrosive) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The exposure time of 24 h is significant longer then according to OECD standard methods. Therefore values after 4 h are not available. Because of the uncertainties of these study the substance is classified as corrosive instead of severly irritating.
