Additional information

Experimental data are available for the assessment of the toxicity of isophorone to aquatic microorganisms. In the study performed by Yoshioka and al. (1986) the substance was tested in a static test, conducted according to OECD 209 (Draft 1.8.83). Activated domestic sludge was used as inoculum in this study. The 3h EC50 was determined to be 100 mg/L (nominal, 1986). Therefore, it can be concluded that depending on local conditions and existing concentrations, disturbances in the biodegradation process of activated sludge are possible.
