Description of key information

Based on read-across to the source substance, where 3 -17% biodegradation was seen in an OECD 301B ready biodegradation study and ~40%% Biodegradation was seen in an OECD 302C Inherent Biodegradation study, the registration substance isn't expected to be readily biodegradable, but will have some inherent biodegradation potential.

Additional information

The magnesium sulfonate target substance is not readily biodegradable based on OECD 301B biodegradation study for the source substance. However, considerable biodegradation was seen in the OECD 302C inherent biodegradation study, with ~40% bioderadation achieved after 28 days. Based on these findings it is expected that the substance would have ultimate biodegradability.
