GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
flask method
Key result
Water solubility:
18.85 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Loading of aqueous phase:
200 mg/L
Incubation duration:
24 h
Temp.:
19.7 °C
pH:
7
Details on results:
Elongated dissolution durations (>24 h) did not lead to an increase in measured concentrations of test substance.
Conclusions:
The water solubility of octadecanoic acid, reaction products with acetic acid and tetraethylenepentamine was measured to be 18.85±0.40 mg/L (at 19.7°C and pH 7)
Executive summary:

The water solubility of octadecanoic acid, reaction products with acetic acid and tetraethylenepentamine was determined according to the flask method described in the OECD Guideline 105 (1995).

Therefore, the test substance was shaken in deionized water at 30°C (for 24, 48 and 72 h) and equilibrated afterwards at 20°C for further 24 h.

Adsorption of the test item to the test vials was avoided by the use of 250-mL PFA bottles. The obtained samples were measured using HPLC.

The water solubility of octadecanoic acid, reaction products with acetic acid and tetraethylenepentamine was determined to be:

Water solubility = 18.85±0.40 mg/L (at 19.7°C and pH 7 after 24 hours).

Elongated dissolution durations (>24 h) did not lead to an increase in measured concentrations of test substance.
