Description of key information

Tall oil reaction products with diethylenetriamine is a UVCB substance. It was determined to be a brown liquid with a freezing point determined as a pour point of <-20 °C (<253 K), and did not exhibit a boiling point, but decomposed from approximately 135 °C.  The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined to be 1.5 x 10-8 Pa at 25 °C. The test substance has a relative density of 0.957 at 20 °C and has low water solubility, determined as less than or equal to 5.6 x 10-3 g/L at 20 °C. The partition coefficient is representative of the complex composition of the material and was determined to span the range from less than 2.0 to greater than 3.16 x 106, corresponding to LogPow in the range 0.3-6.5, with a majority (approximately 73% by area normalisation) of the components showing a Log Pow value of at least 3.0. A weighted mean of the Log Pow was calculated to be 5.86. The flash point was determined to be 93 °C, the auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 278 ± 5 ˚C, and the test substance was considered not to possess explosive, oxidising self-heating, and self-reactive properties, and it is not a pyrophoric liquid.
