- Executive summary:
A study was conducted according to OECD test guideline 102, Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.1 and EPA OCSPP test guideline 830.7200 to determine the melting point of the test item using differential scanning calorimetry. The test item was weighed out into an aluminium crucible under an inert atmosphere (nitrogen). Two tests with about 3.90 mg of the test item were performed. As reference crucible, an empty aluminium crucible was used. The substance is a solid at ambient conditions. The prepared capsule was inserted into the furnace of the DSC device and heated from 25 °C to 500 °C with 10 °C /minutes heating rate. The melting point of the test item was determined to be in the range of 143.8 – 150.4 °C followed by decomposition in the range of 267 – 282 °C at 1013.25 hPa.

Appearance of the Samples
Before the test the appearance of the test item was off-white powder. After the experiments the test item became a brown melt in the crucible.
Measurement
During the heating the test item showed endothermic signal in the temperature range of approx. 144 – 150 °C that can be associated with the melting of the test item.
In the temperature range between 267 – 282 °C one exothermic peak could be observed, which was assumed to the decomposition of the test item.
