Description of key information

The vapour pressure for Cyanuric chloride was measured at 20 °C and was determined to be 60 Pa. For risk assessment the vapour pressure of 277hPa at 150°C was used for extrapolation to process temperature of 175°C.

Additional information

A study according to OECD TG 104 was conducted. For the determination of the vapour pressure a static method was applied where a thermodynamic equilibrium is determined at a specified temperature. The vapour pressure was measured at five different temperatures and was calculated by extrapolation of the pressure/time dependence. The vapour pressure for Cyanuric chloride was calculated to be 60 Pa at 20 degree C. In a supporting study using GC-MS the vapour pressure was measured between 20 and 150°C. The determined vapour pressure of 277 hPa at 150°C was used for extrapolation to vapour pressure at process temperature of 175°C considered in the risk assessment. A second study using GC-MS for the determination of the vapour pressure is available. The study was not conducted according to any guideline or under rules of GLP. The reported values 6 Pa was thus regarded as not reliable. An additional study a using the effusions method was conducted. The vapour pressure balance not conducted according to any guideline was determined the vapour pressure to be 2 hPa. The data from the last two studies were thus disregarded.
