First-aid measures

General information: Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately

After inhalation: Take medical treatment.

After skin contact: In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water

After eye contact: In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of lukewarm water and seek medical advice

After swallowing: Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet.

Induce vomiting in case medical help is not readily available and when the patient is concious. (Vomit should not go into the respiratoy air tract).

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing agents: extinguishing measures to suit surroundings, water spray jet, foam, carbon dioxide

For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: water with a full water jet

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours:

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Hydrogen chloride (HCl), Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Special protective equipment for firefighting: In case of fire, wear respiratory protection

Additional information: Cool endangered containers with water jet spray

Accidental release measures

Person related saftey precautions: wear protective clothing

Methods for cleaning up/taking up:

Take up with suitable equipment and if necessary collect in closed containers. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly with water and detergents, observing environmental regulations. When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal".

Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid spilling, spraying or splashing. Avoid exposure - Obtain special instructions before use.

Restricted to professional users

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed

Exposure controls / personal protection

During its lifecycle the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions and is rigorously contained in accordance with Art. 18.

Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.

General protective measures: Do not inhale dust. Contact with eyes and skin must be avoided

Hygiene measures: Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Respiratory protection : Self-contained breathing apparatus. Short term: filter apparatus, Filter P3

Hand protection :  Observe the information of the glove manufacturers on permeability and breakthrough times and other workplace requirements

Butyl rubber gloves: Minimum thickness / gloves >= 0,7 mm

For short-term exposure (splash protection): PVC/ Nitrile rubber gloves. Minimum thickness / gloves >= 1,2 mm

Eye protection : safety glasses/face shield

Body protection : protective working clothes. In case of larger spillage impermeable protective overalls

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition/conditions to be avoided: no decomposition if used according to specifications

Dangerous products pof decomposition: Carbon monoxide, Nitrous gases

Disposal considerations

Product: Special waste incineration plant, after consultation with operators

Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
