Description of key information

In accordance with REACH Annex VII column 2, the study does not need to be conducted if the available information indicates that the substance should be classified for skin sensitisation or corrosivity.

An in vitro skin irritation study concluded that the test material should be classified as Corrosive to the skin.

The test item was classified as Skin Corrosive Cat. 1B according to CLP.

Based on this conclusion, the skin sensitisation study is not required.

Justification for classification or non-classification

A study to assess skin sensitisation was not carried out as the test material is considered to be corrosive to skin. As such it has not been possible to assess and subsequently derive a classification for sensitisation.
