Description of key information

Two studies have been carried out to assess the environmental effects of the test material, ready biodegradation and adsorption/desorption (results below).

The remainder of the studies required at this level have been waived (in accordance with column 2 of Annex VIII and IX on the basis that the test material has been assessed for ready biodegradability and can be considered to be readily biodegradable. As such further testing is not required.

Ready Biodegradation

The test item attained 105% degradation after 28 days and satisfied the 10-Day window validation criterion, whereby 60% degradation must be attained within 10 days of the degradation exceeding 10%. The test item can therefore be considered to be readily biodegradable under the strict terms and conditions of OECD Guideline No. 301B. Degradation values in excess of 100% were considered to be due to sampling/analytical variation.

Adsorption/desorption

The adsorption coefficient (Koc) of the test item has been estimated to be less than 17.8, log10Koc< 1.25. This value indicates that the test item has very high mobility.
